SPARK SPRINT

Turn a stuck problem into a clear next move.

Bring the right people together to understand one persistent business problem, make the important decisions and agree what happens next. Spark Sprint turns the discussion into four written outputs your team can work from.

01

For the issue that keeps returning

The same problem comes back to the leadership meeting. Teams see different causes. Previous attempts have addressed part of it, but the organisation still lacks a shared view of what to change.

Spark Sprint creates a focused setting to work through that issue. It is useful when the problem crosses responsibilities and the next step depends on people reaching a clear decision together.

02

Start with the evidence and the real decision

Preparation clarifies the issue, its commercial consequences, what has already been tried and the information available. We agree who needs to participate, including the person able to authorise the next step and the people who understand the work.

The session then examines the problem, tests assumptions and develops options. We help the group work towards a useful decision and a manageable way to learn from it.

03

Four written outputs

The work is captured in documents that help the team move from discussion into action.

  • Problem statement: a shared account of the issue, its context and the change the business needs.
  • Prototype brief: a clear description of the solution or experiment to develop and what it needs to establish.
  • 90-day plan: priorities, responsibilities and review points for the next stage.
  • Workshop record: the decisions, reasoning and unresolved questions that need to remain visible.
04

Make the next move practical

The prototype may be a process trial, a different customer offer, a service concept or another manageable test. Its purpose is to answer an important question and give the business evidence for the next decision.

The 90-day plan connects that work with the people responsible for it. It identifies what can proceed, what requires further investigation and how progress will be reviewed.

05

Plan the session around the problem

The workshop format, participants and preparation follow the decision required. We establish these with you before confirming the session, along with the written outputs, follow-through and fee.

If your goal is to develop creative problem-solving capability across a wider team, the Innovation and Creativity Workshop provides a broader programme. Spark Sprint concentrates attention on one business issue.

06

Carry the work forward

Your team can use the outputs to lead the next stage. Chase & Marshal can also help with further business consulting, marketing, systems work or implementation coordination where that would support the agreed priorities.

07

Support beyond the session

Business and management consulting can help investigate a persistent constraint before the session or coordinate separately agreed work after the team's decision.

FAQ

Questions answered

What kinds of problems suit Spark Sprint?

A good fit is a meaningful business issue that keeps returning, involves several perspectives and needs a decision. Examples include a difficult growth choice, a customer-journey problem or a process that creates repeated friction.

What if we disagree about the cause?

That is a useful reason to bring the group together. Preparation and facilitation help make the different assumptions visible, examine the evidence and establish a shared problem statement.

Who should attend?

Include the people who understand the work, those affected by the change and the person able to authorise the next step. We help identify the right group during preparation.

How long does it take and what does it cost?

We recommend the session format and preparation after understanding the problem and participants. The proposal states the timing, delivery arrangements, follow-through and fee before you commit.

Do we need a finished solution before enquiring?

No. Tell us the issue, why it matters and what you have tried. The workshop is designed to help the group work towards a clear next move.
